APPALACHIAN BOTANICAL CO HIGHLIGHTED IN GOOGLE’S ANNUAL ECONOMIC IMPACT REPORT FOR WEST VIRGINIA

[Foster, WV] -- Today, Appalachian Botanical Co (ABCo) announced that it was highlighted in Google’s thirteenth annual Economic Impact Report - a report that showcases how businesses, publishers and nonprofits across the United States are using Google search and advertising tools to connect with the people and communities they serve. This year, small businesses generated $302 million in economic activity in West Virginia. By using Google products businesses increased their online presence and were able to continue connecting with customers in 2021.

“Small businesses across America reflect the most innovative and optimistic workforces in the world, tapping into digital tools that strengthen their entrepreneurial spirit to support their customers and attract new ones,” said Mary Ellen Coe, President of Google Customer Solutions. “We are so thrilled to see how our digital solutions continue to empower small business leaders to grow and contribute economically to their communities.”

After using Google’s tools and services Appalachian Botanical Co saw significant results:

  • Strategically targeted Google Ads helped expand ABCo’s geographic reach to new audiences in Southern California, Texas, Colorado, Florida and elsewhere, which in turn helped drive sales and secure new retail accounts.
  • Using Google Workplace tools like Google Meet and Docs helped keep a geographically dispersed team literally and figuratively on the same page.

“We’re a young company that has to watch every dollar,” says President Jocelyn Sheppard. “Google Ads and the Google Workplace really help us get the most bang for our buck.”

Appalachian Botanical Co is one of many American businesses that used the internet to connect with customers in 2021. According to a newly released poll conducted by The Data Catalyst Institute (DCI), in partnership with the Connected Commerce Council from November 29 to December 9, 2021, 92% of U.S.-based small business owners indicated that digital tools have been helpful for them to engage with customers, with 87% using digital tools to find new customers.
