SPECIAL FOR WINTER-SPRING 2026: Sourwood Honey: An Appalachian Rarity
Our Sourwood honey is a true West Virginia specialty, harvested from the high-elevation forests of the Appalachian Mountains. Known as the "Champagne of Honeys," Sourwood is highly sought after because it is produced from a single, brief blooming window in mid-summer.
-
Tasting Notes: It features a complex, buttery profile with distinct notes of maple and caramel, followed by a clean, slightly tart finish that mimics the tang of a sourwood leaf.
-
Appearance: A beautiful, translucent extra-light amber with a smooth, velvety texture.
-
Provenance: This is a raw, monofloral honey. Because the Sourwood tree only grows in specific acidic soils in the Appalachian chain, it is considered one of the rarest and most premium honey varieties in the world.
Use
All raw honey will eventually begin to crystallize. To re-liquify, place jar in warm water.
Caution
Do not feed honey to infants under one year of age.
