Meet Jason Withrow

I was born Charleston and I grew up in Ashford. I’m the oldest of three. I graduated from Sherman High School last year. My dad worked in the coal mines and I’m thinking I might do the same. In the meantime, I’ve done landscaping work and I’ve worked at Appalachian Botanical Co since last June. It’s been good working here with my friends and it often feels like family (in a good way!). My dad actually worked up here for a while and it was nice spending time with him.

Of the different tasks at the farm, I really enjoy propagating and maintaining the plants in the high tunnel. It’s amazing to watch the tiny cuttings turn into plants – and some of the bigger starter plants have been blooming in the middle of winter.

Besides hunting and fishing, I like riding motocross and 4-wheelers—just about anything with an engine!
