I was born in Charleston, and I grew up on Williams Mountain in Boone County. After graduating from Van Junior-Senior High School, I got hired by Blackhawk Mining. I worked as a “steamer,” meaning I pressure washed equipment, and I also did other mechanic work.

My Blackhawk experience is helpful here at ABCo. I have black hat safety training and I know my way around a mine site.

While I’m happy working with the plants and doing whatever my supervisor needs, I really enjoy working on equipment and engines. It can be surprising to some how much farm operations depend on them. 

Here at the farm there are a lot of different things to work on, the people are nice, and the scenery is beautiful. I’m really enjoying this job!
